The Beginning
The years following 2020 were a quiet but powerful turning point. After the loss of his longtime friend and musical partner Al Trudell, Chris slowly began returning to creativity, rebuilding both his confidence and sound. These releases became the bridge between reflection and renewal, leading directly to the modern Nordmach sound that listeners know today.

2022 – Take The Risk
“I did not feel like doing anything creative for a long time after Al’s passing, but I could hear him cheering me on in my head one day. I took that as a sign to do something for myself.”
— Chris Blais / Nordmach
Originally written for a remix contest, Take The Risk found new life years later when Chris revisited the project and stripped it down to its emotional core. It became a personal statement about courage, healing, and rediscovery. A personal anthem about moving forward. The project also included a companion instrumental version, allowing the production to stand on its own as a cinematic experience.
With its moody synth textures, thoughtful lyrics, and uplifting rhythm, Take The Risk captures the feeling of moving forward after loss and celebrating life in the process.
The official music video was edited by Chris and released on YouTube, accompanied by both a full video and a lyric version.
Supported by his wife Carrigan, close friends, and family, Chris found the spark to make music again, blending meaning and movement in a track that feels both nostalgic and alive.
“Sometimes songs write themselves, and sometimes they need time to breathe. This one surprised me by coming to life in two different forms.”
— Chris Blais / Nordmach
Written from a deeply personal place, That Somebody Is You explores love, connection, and gratitude. Inspired by his wife Carrigan, Chris wrote and produced the song as a lyrical reflection of everyday appreciation and the warmth of companionship.
The track was released in two distinct versions along with instrumental versions:
PM Version – bright and energetic, echoing the spark of a new day.
AM Version – slower, dreamlike, and emotionally charged, evoking the feeling of late-night reflection.
Both versions were released on November 1, the anniversary of the day Carrigan said yes — a meaningful moment that gave the project a romantic anchor.
“For some reason I love hearing a lot of songs without any lyrics at times. When you take the words away, you start to hear what the song was always trying to say.”
- Chris Blais / Nordmach
